I’ve been telling stories for as long as I can remember. I began to channel my love of communicating (read: talking) into writing during middle school when I noticed that words came much easier than numbers, but more importantly that I really enjoyed stringing a bunch of them together. Fast forward a few years and stringing words together to tell a story turned into a degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia.

After a few short stints at companies after graduation, I spent eight years at a nonprofit using my passion for prose to support the mission of a youth empowerment organization. As the director of brand strategy, I managed all things messaging, communication and events: website, blog, social media, intranet, email communications, event scripting and media relations. As a freelance writer I’ve worked with publications like Architectural Digest and Condé Nast Traveler and brands like Loloi Rugs and Cosentino.

I’m constantly chasing the balance between savoring the ‘normal’ moments of life with my husband and two young boys, and counting down the days until my next trip or meal at a new restaurant.
